Although Woodstock Hospital has a new President & CEO, Perry Lang is a familiar face to both the organization and the community. Perry began his career at the hospital in 1998 as the Director of Finance, and later became the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

“I considered myself to be in a great position. I had the privilege of working with high-functioning Senior Teams during an exciting time for the organization, as the vision of a new hospital was realized,” shared Perry.

Perry played an instrumental role in ensuring building timelines and budgets were met. He and the building team also provided oversight when it came to the design of the hospital, to ensure it would benefit all users and most importantly the patients.

“We wanted the hospital to operate efficiently, so we organized the departments in a way that made sense in terms of patient flow,” explained Perry.

Along with the operations of the new hospital, Perry was responsible for the decommissioning and demolition of the old hospital site. He also championed the development and construction of the Woodstock Hospital Professional Building on Athlone Avenue. Moving forward, the new President & CEO is focused on maintaining the hospital’s core values that have developed over time, and are now embedded in Woodstock Hospital staff and volunteers.

“Hospitals must constantly evolve with changing healthcare needs and emerging technologies. With the new hospital, I believe we are well positioned to meet any future challenges that hospitals may face. There has, and always will be, an emphasis on our organization’s culture and the belief that every patient deserves a compassionate and caring experience,” said Perry.

He added that quality assurance programs and Patient Satisfaction Surveys help the Senior Leadership Team to evaluate the hospital’s performance and improve services for the community.

Bettering the health of people living in Woodstock and Oxford County holds a personal significance for Perry, as he resides in Woodstock with his wife Shannon and their two children, Keegan and Rachael.
